Description

As always, Blocks magazine Issue 41 is packed full of LEGO builds, reviews and peeks behind the scenes. The cover is given over to the LEGO Creator Expert Taj Mahal, with the set getting a full review this month.

That is not the only set that gets special attention this issue, as Blocks goes behind the scenes with the LEGO Star Wars design team to find out how the X-wing has evolved from the blocky 1999 original to the streamlined Resistance versions released more recently. It is not just model designers who bring LEGO products to life though, as Collectible Minifigures designer Austin Carlson explains in an exclusive interview.

Technique looks at terrain, demonstrating how to get some nice, organic shape to your LEGO landscapes. This month’s event report looks at last year’s Skaerbaek Fan Weekend, where builders from all over the world came together for a weekend of brick action. Month in MOCs checks out the Gods of LEGO, a fantastic build series with plenty of nods to LEGO fandom.

Some epic builds progress in this month’s magazine, with Steve Guinness continuing to use the pieces from 70618 Destiny’s Bounty to turn Wu’s ship into a modular style restaurant. For those wanting to really make the most of 75192 Millennium Falcon, Daniel Konstanski demonstrates how to make the panels easier to remove, allowing access to interior sections of the ship. Fans of the other long-running LEGO theme get a look-in too, as Mike Freeman continues to build his steampunk Batman world.

All of the regulars are present too, with LUGS Spotlight, Brick Wife, Brickpicker and This LEGO Life all shining a spotlight on the LEGO hobby.
